The best answer is—it depends.   All students completing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) major will be required to satisfy a modern language requirement. Your academic advisor will explain options for fulfilling this requirement. Majors in Bachelor of Science degrees (B.S., B.S.B.A., B.S.Ed., B.S.W.)  do not require a foreign language. You may elect to take a foreign language as part of your general education requirements or as a free elective if you desire. If you are not a language education major or language minor, first-year students should not register for a modern language course in your first semester.
