Benefits of membership include friendship, leadership, service, and scholarship. Joining a fraternity/sorority opens the door to many diverse and enriching life experiences. Not only will you join an organization built on brotherhood and sisterhood but you will gain lifelong friendships. There is an academic advantage to have such close relationships within and between organizations. Seeking help with class work or curriculum advisement is easy to obtain from other members who are in the same major or have already taken similar classes. Academics are highly regarded within the Greek community, which boasts its own honors organization called Order of Omega. Each individual fraternity/sorority has leadership/officer positions . Each position offers invaluable leadership skills and experience that is transferable into all areas of life including future employment. Helping other is a principle commitment of fraternity/sorority life. Service opportunities provide an outlet to give back to the campus, community, and worthy charitable organizations.
