You may have only transferred the Content area but not the Course Files area.

To transfer course materials follow these steps:

  1. Log into D2L and enter a NEW course by clicking on the desired course link.
  2. On the red navigation bar, click on the Edit Course link located in the far-right.
  3. Click on the Import/Export/Copy Components.
  4. Choose the first option: Copy Components from Another Org Unit (In D2L an ORG UNIT is a class).
  5. Click on the Next button.
  6. Select your course from the Existing Offering drop-down box. The next page will automatically appear.

Choose a class from the Copy Course Components drop-down menu
  7. Select the COURSE FILES checkbox.
  8. Click on the Next button.
  9. The Confirm Components to Copy page appears, click on the Next button.
  10. The Copy Summary page appears. Click on the Done button.

Explanation

When transferring information from course to course it is important to transfer both the Content and Course Files area. The Content and Manage Files or Course Files area are two different sections in D2L. The Content area contains the links to the files while the Manage Files or Course Files area contains the actual files.
