Yes. If you are due a refund from your aid (your total aid is more than your charges on your bill and Student Accounts issues you a refund) that refund can be used for books, supplies, etc. Your best bet is to sign up for direct deposit with the Student Accounts office, and have your refund deposited directly to a checking account that you can access with a debit card. You can then use that debit card to buy books. If you get your refund in the form of a check, you are going to have to cash that check and use the cash to purchase your books. Direct Deposit is best as some local banks may charge
