Yes, Shippensburg University students are encouraged to use the Luhrs Library.  The Luhrs Library has a wide selection of leveled readers for students taking classes in the College of Education, as well as both fiction and non-fiction books for children.  These books are geared toward elementary school students; kindergarten to advanced 5th grade readers, and are available for university students to check out.  In addition to our books, we have kits (elementary games that can be used as teaching tools in “centers” or small groups) that are able to be checked out. The Luhrs Library also has tables for quiet study and projects, and desktop computers are available for both access to collection and for web research.  Laptops and a small selection of reference books and children’s magazines are also available for use in the Luhrs Library (not for check out).  The Luhrs Library staff is friendly and helpful, and always ready to answer your questions.   We are located between Shippen Hall and Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School.  We are open during the semester Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Check our website in the spring for anticipated summer hours.
